A great idea but...
by Bob (Hampshire) on 25 Jul 2008"Its a great idea but I really could not get on with it at all and, on my art teachers advice, I ended up giving it away. Its performance was so inferior to Arches or Bockingford - particualry for wet-in-wet."

by Samantha Elliott (Leicester) on 21 Aug 2007"Excellent to 'practice' on if you are feeling a little daunted about using your 'special and expensive' watercolour paper. I have also let my children use it with their little Cotman sketchers paint boxes, they love it!!!
Well worth every penny! Go on give it a try!"
Excellent for letting children have a go at painting
by F. Plumridge (Thurrock) on 18 May 2010"This is really excellent for letting children have a go at painting watercolours. I haven't tried it myself to practise with, but my 4 year old is doing exceptionally well using my student watercolour pan paints on it, and the price means I don't mind taking one or half of one out a day for her to draw and paint on. It's nice thick paper, card like in thickness and remains nice and flat even though she doesn't tape it down. She is effortlessly mastering the techniques on this paper that I had trouble mastering myself on watercolour paper, so I'd say it was probably better than some of those papers I started off using. In fact I'm back to purchase more of these now and a watercolour pan set for her birthday so she has a paint set of her own."

Good size and quality. Has helped me a lot."
Great for practising oil or acrylics
by D. O'Connor (Wiltshire) on 23 Nov 2008"I find this paper great for practising oil or acrylics on. Give it a couple of coats of gesso. Away you go. Cheaper and easier to store than canvas."

by Peter Dep (Spain) on 19 Feb 2012"OK, so the price is excellent and for kids and messing around it's a fantastic buy. But if you're trying to be even a little bit serious about learning or practicing watercolours this is NOT the one to buy. It cockles dreadfully on wet in wet, washes are patchy and looking like a bad case of measles. If your learning this will only make your journey harder. Get something As the man on the stall says, you pays your money and you takes your choice."

by Gillian Everett (Aubusson, France) on 16 Mar 2012"I'm not that good at watercolours so bought this pack for practice. Haven't used any yet, but they seem to compare well with other makes. Might do another review when I've used a couple of sheets."

by Helen Blackman (Ipswich, United Kingdom) on 2 Apr 2012"As a beginner I wanted paper to practice on that would be as near to the same as I would paint on as possible - but not costing so much. These sheets are excellent value."

by Michael Fisher (Glasgow) on 21 Feb 2012"Great value if used for PRACTISING. That's what is said 'on the tin'. It baffles me why some appear to want high quality features in a super budget practice paper.
Used for dry brush or various other techniques that are not wet-in-wet or demanding of a very damp surface it gives users a textured paper that is much less expensive than high quality or archival papers.
Used for its stated purpose, it is a phenomenal value product."

by Daisy Barnes (York, United Kingdom) on 29 Mar 2012"I Make this available to students at art class and they find it very good. Would it be possible to stock a 100 pack so I can keep the price low for individual sheets for students?"

by Christine (Hayling Island,Hants) on 3 Nov 2007"Was given a sample pack to try. It is very good paper, I now use it for all my students and they like it and find it very forgiving. Have experimented with it ie. wet on dry and really wet into wet with lots of success. Anyone thinking of having a go with water colours I would highly recommend it."
